  • The story, Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst, takes place in the country side. Doodle has a disability and cannot do everything his older brother does.
  • Climax
  • The conflict of this story is that Doodle is born. Doodle was born with a disability which does not allow him to do regular things that normal kids can do.
  • Falling Action
  • Come on Doodle.
  • Brother decided to teach Doodle how to walk so he would not longer be embarrassed from Doodle and his disability.
  • Resolution
  • A huge storm approached and Brother and Doodle started to run towards the house when a tree fell on Doodle.
  • Brother tries to tell him to come back with him to the house, but finds out Doodle had died from the tree crash..
  • While Doodle was laying there, Brother covered him from the rain and began cry and weep.
