This is an example of profit. A profit is the money left from sales after operating costs of business have been paid. As for this example, a retailer would see water for higher than they paid and would make money.
France is a market economy. A market economy is where resources are owned and controlled by the people of the country. The people have control over who they elect in France just like the United States.
This picture is an example of competition. Competition is a rivalry among businesses to see which encourages improved products and practices and lower prices. These two stores are competing for Mrs. Smith's business with good deals.
