Achilles is devastated by the death of his best friend Patroclus, who has been killed by Hector ... he kills Hector to get revenge and drags his body, behind the chariot, for 9 days.
Priam is convinced that he can try 'something new' after being visited by the goddess Iris. He dresses in white robes and prepares to leave Troy, with Somax (Ideaus), to ask Achilles forHector's body to be returned for burial.
Priam and Somax travel to see Achilles. Somax teaches Priam about fatherhood and what it means to enjoy life.
Priam asks for his son's body back and Achilles agrees; he first mistakes Priam for his own father.
At sunrise, Priam and Somax travel back to Troy with Hector's body. Priam believes that he is a changed man.
Achilles is dead, Priam is killed by Neoptolemus and Somax tells the story of his great adventure ... no one believes him as he is telling the story of Ideaus!
