The second French Revolution was caused by Louis-Philippe, who refused to make changes to the voting rights.
Another reason that there was a second French Revolution was the economy. Just like the first French Revolution, there was money problems.
The French people decided to overthrow the monarchy. They didn't like that the monarch would not do what they asked for. They decided to build a republic, where government officials are elected by the people.
A temporary government was created, so they decided to make a few changes. The created a new constitution and the made universal male suffrage. Universal male suffrage made sure that every man could vote.
They also created factories so that people who did not have jobs could work and get some money. However, too many people signed up to be in the factories and it drained the treasury, so all the factories were shut down.
People were not happy about the factories being shut down, so they did something about it. They decided to go fight and get the factories back. After 4 hours of fighting, thousands of people died and thousands of people were sent to jail in Algeria.
