Bro what's a motif? I have a quiz today and I forgot to study.
A motif is a repeating main idea the author does to hint at what’s important and what is not. Duhh
Bro Ms.Ciff gave me the topic of "changes". What in the world is she even talking about?
When the teacher says the motif is changes she means that how did the family change throughout the book. So since Hope, Dell and jackie went from free kids to Jehovah Witnesses then that is a major change
Look you are lucky we are friends... *sigh* An example of changes is on page 108 where Jacqueline says " coming home will be differentnow. This place called Greenville this neighborhood will change some and so will each of us.
I get that we are supposed to know how they all changed but i don't know any examples of it... You have any?
Umm you guys doing the topic change too? If you don't mind need 2 more pieces of evidence. You mind helping me?
You too... Ugh look on page 112. Jacqueline states " After my mother leaves there is no one to say, The children can choose their own faith when they're old enough. In my house my grandmother says, you will do as I do.
Thank God I am not the only one who needs help...
You mind explaining this quote on page 137. I don't really get it * points to the book *
Okay this is the last one I will be helping you on. On page 137 the mother tell her kids that "We have a home up North now." All 3 pieces of evidence explain how the family changes drastically after the mother left and had another kid.
Man.. I am hungry... and sleepy......
Hey man. Thanks for everything. You're the best!
HEY! WAKE UP! Sheesh at least stay awake for this last piece of information. The motif that was chosen for us affects out identity because it shows us that we all change as we get older. Whether or not it's good changes depends on our family supporting us and our surroundings. We all change for better or for worse.
I'm up bro sheesh... Thanks for that last piece of information. I think I am more than ready to take on this quiz
