  • I am finally king now, and Thebes is under my control!
  • There are three parts of Creon in his head, the Id, Ego, and Superego. However, Creon does not listen to the Ego and Superego sometimes.
  • Id: "reservoir of basic instinctual drives" (Lapsley and Stey 1).
  • Superego: "bids the psychic apparatus to pursue idealistic goals and perfection.
  • Ego: "regulates libidinal drive energies so that satisfaction accords with the demands of reality" (Lapsley and Stey 1).
  • Eteocles will be buried, while Polyneices will not. Anyone who opposes me will face my wrath.
  • Oh! My poor brother, I must go at once and prepare to bury him. I cannot bear to see him in a poor state.
  • Antigone hears this news, and she is shocked.
  • "I will go and heap a mound of earth over my brother" (Sophocles 128).
