  • Prince Siddarth is born able to walk and talk and everywhere he walks a lotus flower pops out of the ground.

  • His father wants him to see what life is really like because the prince thinks life is so peaceful and easy.
  • The prince sees an old, a sick, and a dead person and he has never seen them before. He also sees an ascetic. He finds out that the only way to end suffering is becoming an ascetic.
  • The prince sits under a holy tree called a Bodhi and meditates for so long until he becomes enlightened and becomes Buddha because "Buddha" means "enlightened one."
