Jack Johnson was the first ever black man to box.He wasnt very weathy growing up and his family use to be slaves. When he became a boxer a nickname stuck with him.His nickname was the Galveston Giant because he was so big.He was the first african american heavyweight champ.
His first ever big accomplishment was boxing in the fist place. Then he became the first african american heavy weight boxer.
He is important because he was the very first black boxer. He proved that black people can be just as good and even better at things then white people.
