Words like "glowed" and "brilliant" indicate white is beautiful, in contrast to when the narrator talks about darkness-not showing beauty.
It appeared the same: a gray tinge glowed through the whiteness...a brilliant white diffused with gray. (205).
The light represents how the narrator emphasizes his presence and to truly "see" himself without anything blocking his sight.
Nothing, storm or flood, must get in the way of our need for light and ever more and brighten light. The truth is the light and light is the truth (7).
The narrator shows invisibility is a part of his identity, and light allows for him to see his true self.
Without light I am not only invisible, but formless as well; and to be aware of one's form is to live a death. I myself, after existing some twenty years, did not become alive until I discovered my invisibility(8).
