  • “I think it’s good to have examples out there who say, 'You know what, not everyone is always going to like you, but life will go on, you’ll be okay and you can still love yourself." Rousey is a great role model for young girls, because she acknowledges that she is not perfect.
  • Ronda Rousey was born February 1, 1987 in Riverside, CA. Her father committed suicide when she was 8 years old, which really had an impact on her. Rousey's mother is the one who suggested judo to her, and Rousey retired from it at 21 years old. For a while after this, she worked as a bartender in Los Angeles and lived out of her car. She soon joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which is when she became famous. Rousey later had parts in movies, such as "Entourage" and the "Expendables 3". 
  • Ronda Rousey accomplished many things, starting when she made the United States Olympic team in 2002 at 15 years old. In 2004, she won gold in the World Junior Judo Championships. She won bronze in the 70 kilogram women's middleweight division in 2008 Summer Olympics.

  • Ronda Rousey will always be remembered for the things she had done. She was the first woman to join the UFC Division. She also fights against eating disorders, as well as inspires young girls who are concerned with their weight.
