  • Russian Overthrow
  • I resign, I do not want to be part of this war. 
  • The U.S. wanted Germany to be defeated, and without the complete focus of Russia, they considered joining in themselves.  
  • Still fighting in war, Russia was not nearly as powerful.
  • Allied Powers
  • British Blockade
  • Prohibited American trade with the Central Powers
  • America wanted to become involved to fight back for their rights.
  • Naval Blockade
  • Zimmerman Telegram
  • Americans
  • An agreement between Germany and Mexico stating that if the US was to enter the war, Mexico would gain control of Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico.
  • Arthur Zimmerman       (German foreign secretary)
  • The Lusitania
  • Enraged and upset, this gave the US another reason to join the war.
  • The sinking of the Lusitania killed 128 Americans.
  • ...on April 6, 1917, the United States become involved in the Great War. About a year and a half later, America came out on top and World War I ended.
