During the 1780s France was horrible and 24 million people in the third estate were so poor it made the poor in America look rich.
The King that Failed
The king's people weren't pleased with him so he held a meeting to discuss with them and see what they wanted and needed. And this was a false hope of democracy which made the french want a democracy.
We're poor and have no food. We need food.
Give them nothing to keep our support
The third estate claimed to represent France and made a constitution making them terrorists so the king had his troops surround them which was a step toward democracy for the third estate but backward for the govt.
WE HAVE A PROBLEM GUYS!!!
After the King had the third estate offended because he did nothing to help they decided to attack the Bastille showing the King's power was declining. This was a step in the direction of democracy.
And after the men stormed the Bastille the women said "Hey, how about we march on Versailles and drive the king out with our weapons and prowess?" So they did and the men from the third estate tagged along and wrote another constitution during the battle.
Come out here King Louis!!!
After the people got the power they wanted they gave leadership to the Jacobins who declared war on tyranny and anyone who opposed the Jacobins disappeared. It got to the point where 110 people disappeared per day.
