Skipped to resolution: Story to fill in: Goose Girl and the Prince row to the King's castle to settle matters with him. When they arrive, the King is to marry Goose Girl immediately and sentences the Prince to death. Goose girl's maid happens to be the duchess. The duchess gives her a drink and says it was from an old woman, whom goose girl identifies as the witch who gave her "gifts": diamond tears, beauty beyond measure, and golden enchanted hair. The duchess says if goose girl tells the priest her name is Wilhelmina Frump, that she will release the prince. The duchess tells her to pour her drink in her wine and drink it. We begin this scene at the wedding, where the duchess has just proposed a toast.

The duchess grabbed her throat and lay gasping on the ground. People swarmed around her. She had drunken the poison meant for goose girl.
As goose girl tried to escape, her geese came up and stopped her. They held out her ruby ring. She put it on and something wild happened...
Where her geese used to be, were her sisters. Just then, the old witch came with the prince's horse, which he was delighted to see. Goose Girl handed over her jewels to Ernestina, her eldest sister.
Ernestina was crowned Queen, and they all lived Happily Ever After
