Storyboard Text

  • She speaks: O, speak again, bright angel! For thou art as Glorious to this night, being o'er my head
  • Ay Me!
  • Irony: The audience knows Romeo can hear her, but Juliet has no idea he's there
  • Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?
  • O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo! Deny thy father and Refuse thy name;
  • Juliet is asking why is named Romeo.
  • I take thee at thy word: Call me but love, and I'll be baptized; Henceforth I never will be Romeo
  • What's a Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot, nor any part belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
  • 'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
  • What man art thou that thus bescreen'd in night so stumblest on my counsel?
  • By a name I know not how to tell thee who I am: My name, dear saint, is hateful to myself
  • Because it is an enemy to thee; Had I it written, I would tear the word.
  • What shall I swear by?
  • O, swear not by the moon, th'inconstant moon, That monthly changes in her circled orb.
  • Lady, by yonder blessed moon I vow that tips with silver all these fruit-tree tops-
  • Do not swear at all; Or, if thou wilt, swear by thy graious self, which is the god of my idolatry.
  • Madam!
  • So thrive my soul-
  • A thousand times the worst, to want thy light.
  • Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow,By one that I'll procure to come to thee
  • Three words, dear Romeo, and good night indeed. If that thy bent of love be honorable
  • A thousand times goodnight!
