Father abandons at birth. Leaving mother alone to raise son. Mother works full time and Jason suffers neglect. This includes inadequate health, education, food, emotional wellbeing, suitable living conditions and protection
Long term impacts
From ages 2-9 Jason is not provided with proper food, health care, clothing, food or bedding. he is made to sleep in the upstairs attic with no suitable bedding or plumbing. Jason attends school intermittently and is not socialised with other children. His mum often feeds him stale or old foods but buys him clothes, school supplies and some toys from the Salvation Army.
Offending behaviour as adolescent
During primary school, Jason experienced difficulty talking about topics and participating in school. This impacted his ability to learn, socialise and interact with peers within school rules. he became isolated and distant from the other kids but also from learning. his grades were notoriously low.
Offending behaviour as adult
over time, Jason suffered some personality dispositions. Namely emotional instability, a negative world view and internalising his problems. This meant that Jason had trouble talking to others, keeping his emotions under control and relating to other people.
In his teenage years, Jason's inability to control his feelings led him to a conviction for his juvenile offending. he was convicted for joyriding first, then assault.
Because Jason did not know how to take care of himself or how to make friends, his isolation led to a substance abuse problem. He became a regular user and used vrious illicit substances regularly.
