  • You may think I am mad but I'm not. The eye of this old man is like the eye of a vulture --a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold; and so by degrees

  • For seven nights at midnight, I crept by his door putting the light or my lantern on the vulture eye.

  • He keeps dening he is insane but when he does this it proves him wrong.
