Sinbad set out on his third voyage because of his love of trading and travel despite having riches.
Sinbad and the rest of the crew were shipwrecked by a hurricane on an island where they found huts occupied by cannibals.
Sinbad was the only of the ships passengers to escape the cannibalistic savages. He was saved by Persians who were there collecting pepper.
He was taken back to their King whom treated him with great consideration after hearing the tale of his shipwreck.
To him also I had to relate my adventures, which surprised him much, and when I had finished he ordered that I should be supplied with food and raiment and treated with consideration.
Sinbad was married in this country and when his wife died he learned that he had to be buried alive with her and so he was.
No one spoke to me, they even appeared to hasten over their dreadful task, and I speedily found myself descending into the gloomy pit
He escaped the tomb by killing others lowered into to pit and stealing their supplies. He found a way out by following an animal through a crack. He was picked up off the beach and taken back to his home country.
