Communication difficulties and the inability to express emotions properly. Asperger's syndrome is the developmental disorder affecting Christopher Boone's ability to effectively socialize and communicate. Because of this Christoper cannot effectively cope with tragedies or have a well rounded grasp on the adversities surrounding him.
Christoper's logic is above average but his personal reasoning skills are alien in comparison to the world around him. He severely dislike reassuring or necessary physical contact but finds that being kept in a jail cell is more comforting, because it is a perfect cubical. His bizarre judgments and subjectivity have continuously puts him into stressful predicaments.
Christoper discovers his fathers betrayal the hard and only way. He discovers that his mother had not died of a heart attack but has moved to London, that Christoper's father had been harboring her letters from him, and that his own trusted guardian had killed the dog he loved in a fit of rage. Christoper no longer trust his dad and decides to find his mother.
Due to his fathers deception, Christoper deems his father as a threat and flees. Christoper routinely hides from his father in fear for his own safety. In an attempt to abscond Christoper must find a way to reach London, by doing so he takes his companion Toby and his fathers credit card so that he has the means to travel. This is a sudden change in lifestyle and Christoper has to learn how to become more self-sustaining and more idiosyncratic.
In Christoper's attempt to become more independent, and in his quest to find his mother in London; Christoper has metaphorically become a fish out of water. The only way Christoper can achieve his goal is through the English Subways, surrounded by noisy strangers and police officers that are trying to find him. Christoper is severely out of his element, and has to maintain himself for his own sake. Christoper must adapt to this situation and both logically and reasonably find his way through this conundrum.
In Christoper's attempt to reinstate balance in his life, he indirectly plunges himself into more disorder. Over the course of the novel, Christoper experiences a series of unfortunate and destabilizing events. Even though he as learned from these adversities, his future is still undetermined. Hopefully, his new understandings can help him find the best possible outcome for future adversities.
