This is a storyboard for the short story "The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury. I really enjoyed this story and loved wondering what would happen next. It has very creepy undertones throughout, but the reader would never expect what happens in the conclusion. I can't believe that the 'sweet & innocent ten-year-olds' are the true antagonists in this story. They brutally murder their parents with the help of mechanical lions whom exist in a crystalline room of screens. Overall, I'd give this story a 10/10. "The Veldt" is unique and keeps the reader submerged in the story until the last word.
George and Lydia Hadley were concerned about the state of their mechanical nursery
George, I wish you'd look at the nursery.
The nursery had conjured up an African veldt
And here were the lions now, fifteen feet away, so real, so feverishly and startlingly real...
The parents were hesitant to shut off their electronic 'necessities' for the sake of their children
I feel like I don't belong here. The house is wife and mother now.
When I punished Peter a month ago by locking the nursery for even a few hours - oh the tantrum he threw!
David, a psychologist, came to examine the gruesome nursery scene
This room is their mother and father, far more important in their lives than their real parents.
George Hadley was sick of relying on technology, and decided that they'd be better off without it. The children were furious
The whole damn house dies as of here and now!
I wish you were dead!
You can't be so cruel...
The lions mouths dripped with fresh blood, and the vultures swarmed above to devour the meatless bones
