Storyboard Text

  • I think the main idea of this passage is that there are things that are ruining the Ocean, and there are ways we could make it better.
  • For example, people who overfish, meaning they like to fish way more than they should, catch a lot of them. This means that they might become endangered.
  • "If it keeps going like that," says co-author Carl Lamborg, eventually almost “every kind of fish is going to be potentially hazardous..”
  • Also, there is a lot of plastic in the ocean.“Our ocean contains an estimate of 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic Wilcox.”
  • Another detail is, “most commercial species have been reduced by more than 75 percent — and some by 99 percent.”  This is saying that the species in the ocean may be going down.
  • That's what I think the main idea and overall description of the article, "How We Ruined Oceans, is."
  • THE END!
