  • Jefferson's biggest move was the Louisiana purchase. He made this purchase for 15 million dollars.

  • the original draft of the Declaration of Independence was written in 1766. Jefferson's version included eighty six changes made later by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and other members of the committee

  • Jefferson decided to send an expedition under Lewis and Clarke. The expedition started in 1803 and ended in 1806. The expedition traveled around 8,000 miles and gathered info about the landscape, plants, animals, and resources.

  • In 1807, Jefferson ended the foreign slave trade beginning January 1, 1808. He also established the precedent of executive privilege.
