  • Helen! Captain! Helen! Captain! She can't see or hear me!
  • Ouch! Helen why did you do that.
  • Fold your napkin! Eat with a spoon and fork! Don't touch my plate!
  • After Kate realized that her daughter Helen was blind and deaf. Helen got blind and deaf at the age of 19 months. Kate called for her husband immediately. After her Husband got there he tried to figure out what happened but couldn't do anything. This next scene skips to when Helen is six and an half years old. She has a new teacher from Perkins Institute and her name is Annie Sullivan, and she gets a doll as a gift from her.
  • Miss Annie please be good too her.
  • Does she know where she is?
  • Miss Annie let her be, she just got back.
  • Helen meets her new teacher Annie Sullivan. Annie gives her a doll, Helen loves the doll a lot. Annie tries to take it away from Helen. When Annie tries to do that Helen is mad and hits her with the doll. Annie gets hit in the mouth and falls down. Meanwhile Helen is locking her into her room. Annie can not get out. Captain Keller realizes she is locked in and gets her out, but they can't find the key. They search Helen but can't find it. In between this scene and the next one Annie finds the key in Helen's mouth and she realizes what she has to work with. this next scene Helen gets mad at Annie, and Annie gets mad at Helen.
  • No, she needs to not get pity from her parents. I'm taking her outside to refill the pitcher.
  • In this scene Helen is going around like usual and touching and eating off of everybody's plate. When it is Annie's turn to have Helen eat off her plate she denies her. She slaps Helen's wrists away from her plate. Helen gets mad and forces her hand back onto the plate and once again Annie pulls her arm away. This happens a couple of more times then Annie makes everyone go outside except for Helen. When everybody is outside she tries to teach Helen to fold her napkin, eat with a fork and spoon, and eat out of her own plate. They fight over this for a while but Annie finally succeeds and makes Helen do what she wants. In between this scene and the next scene Annie wants to have full control over Helen so she takes her to the Garden house. It was hard for Kate and Keller to let he rleave but they did.
  • Wah, wah
  • Oh my gosh! Captain, Kate, Captain,Kate. She talked, she talked.
  • In this scene Kate and Captain Keller have rode Helen around the yard for 2 hours. Helen doesn't know where she is, this is good so she doesn't know where she is and if her parents are around. Kate gives Helen two weeks to have Helen and after that she gets to go home. While they are in the Garden house Helen learns to fold her napkin, eat with a spoon and fork, and eat off her own plate. Helen learns how to spell some words with her hands and understand some words that Annie spells into her hands. But she still doesn't know objects have a name. When two weeks past Annie is not satisfied with her work but Kate and Keller are satisfied. Annie begs for more time ut she doesn't get it. In between this scene and the next scene Helen is back home and they are eating a family dinner.
  • We rode her in the country for two hours.
  • When Helen and Annie get home they go to a family dinner. They have all of Helen's favorite foods to eat at the table. While Helen is eating she has her napkin and is eating with her fork and spoon. But she purposely drops her napkin. At first Annie picks it up and puts it back on her because she thought she didn't do it on purpose but she did. After she does it again they get in a fight. Then Helen throws water from the pitcher at Annie and it hit her and she is soaked. In between this scene and the next scene Annie makes Helen go fill the pitcher up.
  • In this scene Annie took Helen out to the pump to fill the Water pitcher back up. While she is filling it up she is feeling the water in a different way then normal. Then the miracle happens, Helen says Wah, Wah. Annie is so excited that she runs around the yard spelling random things to Helen. Then she screams for Kate and Captain Keller. They come out and are so excited that they scream and make everyone one else come out. This is the end of the book.
