Storyboard Text

  • muslims
  • muslim territory
  • christians/crusaders
  • After the europeans victory, they started to kill people in jerusalem after they surerendered. Any people left alive would become slaves. afterwards, some people were able to escape so they satayed behind and established many kingdoms in Palestine, syria, and modern-day lebaron and turkey.
  • One of the main reasons crusaders won multiple battles is all because of the part in lack of unity among all muslims, how lovely for the crusaders. then a quick turn hit the crusaders and muslims beat the crusaders. Later on they went on home ending the second crusade.
  • 100 years of continuous crusades
  • The "childrens crusade"
  • Over these next few decades, they cam under a common new leadership, led by Salah al –Din. he united the muslims terrritory with a bunch more, making this empire bigger and bigger. Around 1191 richards army decided to force the surrender for the palestine town of acre. he made an agreement with Salah al–Din to exchange prisoners. while waiting, Richard grew impatient and killed all muslim prisoners.
  • The Reconquista
  • By the way, we should reveiw on Richard. As he fought through to get to jerusalem, he realized that his army was not strong enough to attack the city, but he wasnt the only weak one . inseptember 1192, they signed a peace treaty, the crusaders still ended up keeping what they have conquered
  • After that peace treaty I bet that you thought there would be no more crusades. Well you were very wrong. The crusades infact continued for another 100 years. Talk about progress. A lot of these were popular mvement for poor people rather then for millitary purposes.
  • The childrens crusade: A good example of continous war is how tens of thousands peasent children marched in the childrens crusade. Barely anyone survived. The farthest a kid has gone is is all the way to the european port cities. The Reconquista: In time, the christian rulers snatched away at the muslim lands. After a lot of the muslims territory was gone, they satyed with the jews in areas ruled by christians.
