"The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" Bruno is just now meeting the Jewish boy (Shmuel). Bruno asked Shmuel, why is everyone wearing pajamas? Shmuel responded "I don't know."
Bruno was suprised to see Maria, the family's maid, packing all his belongings out of the wardrobe in four large wooden crates. Bruno marched to his mother " What's going on, why is Maria going through my things?"
For several weeks Bruno asked his mom if he could go explore the woods and his mom said "No, its off limits". But one day he didn't listen and as he was exploring he came across a tall fence and the was a boy on the other side.
Shmuel and Bruno have been talking for awhile. Shmuel mentioned to Bruno, can you come over to my side of the fence to help me find my dad?
Bruno went on Shmuel's side of the fence and had to march in the rain with other jews in the striped pajamas to find Shmuel's dad.
At the end of the book they were getting crowded and pushed into a chamber (which was the gas chamber) and both boys died holding hands.
