  • Hamilton believed that the Constitution gave him the power to create economic policies that strengthend the nation's government
  • Alexander agreed that the nation's capital would be built near the Potomac.
  • Hamilton stepped down from the position of secretary of the treasury in 1795. He left behind a far more secure U.Seconomy.
  • Hamilton had conflict withAaron Burr. It got to the point where Aaron challenged Hamilton to a duel. He accepted.
  • When both men drew their guns and fired Hamilton missed, but Burr didn't. Hamilton was severely wounded.
  • Hamilton was brought back to New York where he sadly passed away the next day on July 12, 1804.
