  • The exposition is when Roger tries to steal Mrs. Jones purse. This event leads the way to the plot and introduces the characters and their personalities.
  • The rising action was when Mrs. Jones hold Roger by the shirt and started teaching him lessons and making a fool out of him in front of everyone around him. This leads to the conflict because Mrs. Jones then takes him to her house to get his face washed
  • The conflict happened when Mrs. Jones took Roger to her house to get her face washed. Roger then alerted the presences of an open door but did not escape. This leads to the climax of which Mrs. Jones and Roger begin to trust each other.
  • The climax is when Mrs. Jones and Roger got to know each others personality and started to trust each other. Roger then asks if she needed someone to go to the store and Mrs. Jones agreed, which pointed out Rogers kindness and Mrs. Jones trust.
  • The falling action was when Roger and Mrs. Jones where dining at the table. When they finished eating, Mrs. Jones gave Roger ten dollars for some blue suede shoes. This leads to the resolution because it is giving a hint of what will happen at the end of the story
  • The resolution in the story was when Mrs. Jones let him out the house. They exchanged thanks and goodbyes, then Roger took off with the 10 dollars to buy some blue suede shoes. He takes one final look at Mrs. Jones and leaves, ending the story.
