  • Okay 8th grade can anybody tell what does the term base mean? list one example.
  • The word base is a math term that is invloved when using an exponent. for example 84
  • Now that you know what the term base is.. Can someone tell me what the term exponents mean. I also want someone to tell me what is a rational number.
  • A rational number is a number that can be written as a fraction. for example 8/10 can be simplified as 0.8
  • An exponent is an  number above the base. For example 102= 10 x 10.
  • Good job stduents 
  • Now Can you all tell me what a whole number & a terminating decimal is.
  • All together: a whole number is a number that isn't a fraction but is a integer.
