Human beings have no power over death, however we do have the power of our intelligence.
The new King, Creon, gives a speech to the chorus explaining that he refuses to allow traitors like the prince to be given an honorable burial. He is then confronted by a messenger that claims that the prince has been "buried".
Antigone goes to her brother's corpse and covers it in a thin layer of dirt, "burying" him. None of the sentries saw her do this so she wasn't caught.
The chorus relates that humans exert power over nature and create states.
