  • I'm so hungry right now! wow look at that juicy plant, im going to go eat it
  • Wait! before you eat me, would you like to know how plants, like me, make energy for you to consume?
  • Sure!
  • I am an autotroph, which means I make my own energy. First, there are three reactants that I need to make energy.
  • Sunlight from the sun
  • Water from the roots
  • And Carbon Dioxide
  • CO2
  • These reactants are taken in by my leaves. In my leaves are organelles called chloroplast which contain chlorophyll
  • CO2
  • CO2
  • In the chloroplast, the reactants are turned into oxygen and ATP (energy), that energy is transfered to you when you eat me.

  • O2
  • So you still want to eat me?
