While sailing in the North Sea Captain Walton finds a stranger stranded on the ice. "Only one dog remained alive; but there was a human being within it whom the sailors were persuading to enter the vessel." (Frankenstein P 9)
Justine takes refuge in a barn while searching for William and falls asleep inside. The creature then slips a locket inside her pocket while she sleeps framing her for Williams murder.
After Justine is executed, Victor becomes depressed and spends most of his time in nature. While rowing on a lake he considers suicide.
The creature lives near a family who he has been spying on, but when he shows himself to them they are disgusted. "Felix darted forward, and with supernatural strength tore me from his father, to whose knees I clung; in a transport of fury, he dashed me to the ground and struck me violently with a stick." (Frankenstein P115)
After the creature flees from Victor it camps in the woods. The creature is rejected by a village so he has to camp outside.
While outside camping Victor encounters the creature. The creature invites Victor to a cabin so he can tell Victor his story.
