  • Hanniball was the general leading up to the Second Punic War. He was also considered to be one of the most ablest and most brilliant generals the Romans ever faced.
  • Next, Hanniball lead his army into the north of Italy and that included Elephants. He was forced to cross the snow covered Alps and lost over half of his army.
  • Even with all of the casualties he came out victorious against the Romans for the first two years of the war. His generalship and new battle statistics won them many series of battles. The Battle Of Cannae was his greatest victory where a whole Roman army was defeated.
  • The Romans would not except that type of defeat. The " Hired" a new general Cornelius Scipio. While Hannibal was waiting in Italy waiting for reinforcements Scipio went to fight the army in Spain. The Romans stopped Hannibal from getting reinforcments by killing his brother in war.
  • Scipio stole Hannibal's battle strategy. Then they drove out the Carthaginians in Spain and then they invaded Africa and invaded the city of Carthage itself and the battle took place in Zama where Scipio won. Hannibal and the Carthaginians made a peace agreement and Spain became two Spain provinces.
  • Rome put their focus on the eastern Mediterranean. Then Greece became part of the Republic of Rome after the city of Corinth was crushed. Then Macedonia and Greece became one Roman Province and Carthage formed the province of Africa. King Aatullus died and left his kingdom to the Romans and it became the province of Asia. The Romans had established 7 Provinces along the Mediterranean.
