Storyboard Text

  • Our latest Applicant to the University of Mississippi is named James H. Meredith! He has successfully been admitted.
  • Wait, I have just heard word that Meredith is African-American. We can't admit him!
  • Here at a Federal Court in 1962, we have ruled that James H. Meredith must be allowed to attend the university of Mississippi. In addition, we have heard word that on September 29, 1962, President John F. Kennedy will send federal marshals to quell any riots that may arise due to the admission of Meredith.
  • I am Mississippi Governor and well known segregationist, Ross Barnett. I am here at this Ole Miss football to encourage all of you to block the entry of a black man who wants to enroll here, James H. Meredith. Join me in riots tomorrow!
  • And I am a Mississippi Senator, and I say that all of you are dismissed!
  • We are the highway patrol, and you are making it dangerous for cars so we can't let you rioters pass.
  • We are rioters led by Edwin Walker. There are 3,000 of us, comprised of KKK members, college students, adults, and Segregationists. We don't want you to go to Ole Miss!
  • We are US marshals, army men, and national guard that were brought here overnight because you are being too violent.
  • We just found Meredith's dorm room! Let's attack and light this car on fire!
