Battles of Lexington and Concord
Battle of Breed's and Bunker Hill
Battle of Yorktown
In my opinion, The Battles of Lexington and Concord are the beginning of the Revolutionary War. At Lexington, a militia attempts to stop an army of redcoats from getting to Concord but fail with the fight only lasting minutes (Above). At concord, minutemen from all over come to fight the army and in the end Britain had 250 casualties and 100 colonists were killed or wounded.
As Boston is under siege by minutemen, the Battles of Breed's Hill and Bunker Hill occur. With an uphill advantage the Patriots prove themselves successful ,but lose from running out of amo. In the end, 450 Patriots are killed, wounded, or captured while Britain has about 1,000 casualties. Even though they lost the Patriots proved they had a fighting chance against the British.
The Battle of Yorktown is the last major battle in the Revolutionary War winning America's independence. Battle ended once General Cornwallis surrenders to the Patriots with the help of France. The Treaty of Paris is signed for official British recognition of the United States.
