After a bad experience with people the monster finds a small cottage in the woods. He steals food from them until he figures out that they need it more than he does so he starts to help them. As he watches them he starts to learn how to speak and how humans interact with each other and he hopes that soon he can reveal himself to them and befriend them.

After killing Victors wife the Monster runs away with Victor chasing him. He sets out on the ice in a dogsled headed towards the North Pole. Victor looses him on the ice and gets picked up by a ship captained by Robert Walton, soon after he dies. The Monster is never heard from again.
