Valley Forge was not a battle but a harsh Winter year for the American soldiers. The Winter of 1777-1778 was terrible because they had little supplies and the temperature was harsh that caused more than 1/5 men dying of disease and malnutrition. As they were there the men lost hope but Friedrich von Steuben raised that morale and with his help they made it out.
The first Continental Congress was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where 56 Delegates where they discussed in what to do. The results from the debate was sent to the King that had a list of rights that they wanted to they can be free. The Delegates would meet again if the King did not agree within a year so they can have another discussion on there next move.
The Second Continental Congress was the meeting of delegates to react on the fighting of Concord and Lexington. As they discussed that they will not break away from Britain yet and they ended up creating the Coninental Army to defend the colonies. The Olive Branch Petition was the colonist last attempt of peace but the King rejected it then the fighting got worse.
