Propels the Action by...
"Swirling over Tyson was a glowing green trident--the same symbol that had appeared over me the day Poseidon had claimed me as his son." (pg. 64)
"I had no choice, I had to let him cross the boundary line to save you. Otherwise, you would've died." (pg. 45)
This event moves the story forward because Percy thought Tyson was weak, but Percy figured out he was a Cyclops. Percy would be friends with Tyson.
Posidon claimed Tyson, so now Tyson and Percy are brothers.
Tyson helps Percy on his journey, and even saves his life a few times.
