Storyboard Text

  • CARBON CYCLE
  • CO2 can dissolve into any body of water (in the form of carbonate or bicarbonate ions)
  • Plants absorb CO2 in the air and in the presence of sunlight and water, which helps them produce oxygen and glucose
  • Animals then eat these plants, with C02 absorbed in them
  • As these animals die, they eventually decay. Thus creating a fossil fuel buildup, later used for combustion
  • Fossil fuels are extracted from the ground, and burned for industrial or domestic use
  • Fossil Fuel
  • Burning these fossil fuels releases CO2 into the atmosphere (combustion)
