What do you want to name her? Candy? Caramel? Oh, Butterscotch!
At the age of five, Melody and her mother went to the hospital to see what was wrong with her. Melody could not walk or talk since she was a young age. The doctors believe that she is severely brain-damaged, but her mother knows they are wrong.
Hi, I'm Rose. Want to sit next to me?
Melody starts her first day of school at Spaulding Street Elementary School in room H-5. Every single day they review the alphabet and Melody is sick and tired of it. She starts screaming to get her mom to come to the school. Her mom freaks out at the teacher because she knows that the kids need to learn more.
It's your new Medi-Talker. You can now talk to anyone and say anything.
On Melody's eighth birthday she got a golden retriever. The dog jumped on her wheelchair and found a comfortable spot on her lap. Melody pointed to candy on their table and wanted to name the dog Butterscotch.
What is the capital of Italy?
When fifth grade started, Melody got to be in classes with "normal" kids. She liked it so much more than being in room H-5. She had a helper named Catherine that can assit her on work. In her class, Melody also met a girl named Rose who became good friends.
Before Christmas arrives, Melody gets a Medi-Talker which is a computer that can talk for her. She gets so excited that she can now talk to her friends. She can finally talk to her parents too.
Melody getting her new computer tries out for the Whiz Kids, an academic club, but doesn't make it. She tries again and makes it her second try. Melody studies for the upcoming Southwest Ohio Regional Competition and they win and make it to the championship.
