  • Outside of the mitochondria, in the cytoplasm.
  • Glycolysis is the first step in Cellular Respiration and it begins with glucose.
  • After Glycolsis pyravic acidis produced which is used in the Krebs Cycle.
  • Now in the mitochondria.
  • The Krebs Cycle also completes the breakdown of glucose to carbon dioxide.
  • Still in the mitochondria...
  • Still in the mitochondria...
  • Futher redox in the Kreb Cycle reduce the electron carriers NAD+ and FAD to FADH2 and NAHD.
  • NAHD and FAHD molecules go through the Electron Transport Chain to oxygen, the final electron receptor.
  • A rush of H+ activate catalystic sites that attach phosphate groups to ADP to generate ATP.
  • Chemiosmosis uses energy stored in hydrogen ion gradient across a membrane to drive ATP synthesis.
  • Still in the mitochondria...
  • Overall Cellular Respiration produce carbon dioxide, water, and ATP.
  • About to exist the mitochondria.
