Storyboard Text

  • Hi, my name is Daniel. You see...before I looked into this class I thought that Anthropology was something scientific. I guess I was kinda right.
  • I did not realize though just how diverse or varied the actual field was. Now I think about it, Anthropology is integrated into every aspect of life.
  • It covers four principles/areas of scope: Holistic, Comparative, Field-based and Evolutionary.
  • Even something as mundane as "doing the laundry" for instance, would be considered an aspect of CULTURE, a learned behavior which other countries or societies may not adhere to.
  • HOLISTIC on the other hand, seeks to connect the dots with regards to our biology and the past; factors we perhaps do not learn.
  • It is an interesting topic for sure, one that now I respect a little bit more and understand why there are full time Anthropologists in the field.
