Due to lousie's rising expectations of marriage, she started getting fed up of having to constantly stay at home, cook and look after the children. Whilst Jamie is never at home due to football punditry. Therefore they cant have family time together and Louise files for a divorce. In mid 90's, louise would be expected to stray at home and do housework, however due to rising expectations, louise wanted family time and to earn her own money.
After many talks and discussions, louise and Jamie get divorced within a month of louise filing for the divorce. This happened quiclkly due to changes in the law. For example prior to 1986, divorce took up to 3 years, whereas after 1986, it took only 1 year for divorce to follow through.
Louise and Jamie went their separate ways, with Louise being more individualised. This meant she could do things off her own back and do her own things, instead of being a work from home mum due to Jamie being away due to football punditry. In comparison to mid 90's where women were expected to work from home, Louise didnt want to, she wanted to do her own thing and earn her own money without relying on Jamie.
