The South African Boer war begins in south Africa between the British Empire and the Boers.
The Boers were also known as Afrikaners and were the descendants of the original Dutch settlers of southern Africa.
The British took possession of the Dutch Cape Colony in 1806 which sparked resistance from the Boers. This would be the start of the Boers being against the British.
The discovery of diamonds and gold made conflict between the British and the Boers inevitable. Just as expected, in Octover of 1899 a full scale war insued.
The Boers used a warfare tactic known as Guerrilla warfare which is when small groups would use tactics such as sabotages and ambushes. The British later developed a tactic to go against this and ended up winning the war.
