My king, we have lost a lot of money from the war. What should we do?
We should raise the tax prices for the colonist.. I will create an act called the Stamp Act. That way we will get revenue.
Oh no, they have raised the taxes. I will not be able to feed my family!
This is unfair! We should not have to pay these taxes! The taxes are going to benefit the British, not us!
The taxes are not fair! They are too high for anyone to pay!
Stamp Act Inforce
I'm sorry, but the law came from the British, and they control you, colonists.
Britain has lost money because of the French and Indian war. The King is now forcing the colonist to pay high taxes on almost everything.
I'm not going to pay these high taxes on everything. I'm going to smuggle some molasses. I'll also hunt for some food.
That's a good idea. Can you get me some molasses too! I'll pay you.
My king! The colonist are revolting. They are calling themselves the Sons of Liberty. We are losing money because the colonist are not paying the taxes.
The colonist become really angry at Britain because all of he things they need have heavy tax on them. They start to smuggle things like molasses so they do not have to pay tax on it.
We must repeal the Stamp Act so that we do not lose any more money!
The colonist became fed up with the taxes the British were forcing on them. They started to rebel against the British, and they started a group called the Sons of Liberty. Colonist protested in the streets.
Yay! The British repealed the Stamp Act.

Hurray! No more Stamp Act.
Colonist start to smuggle food and goods so that they don't have to pay the high taxes. They started to stop buying British goods, so they would lose money. They do this so that the British start to lose money.
