I know not where I was born, save that the castle was infinitely old
To me there is nothing grotesque in the bones and skeletons that strowed some of the crypts deep down in the foundations.
It was never light, so that I used to light candles and gaze syeadily at them for relief; nor were there any sun outside, since the terrible trees grew high above the top most tower. There is one black tower that reaches above the trees.
My longing for light grew so frantic that I could rest no more. I would resolve to scale the tower, fall though I might, It was better than never glimpsing the light. In the twilight I climbed the worn and aged tower to make my way onto the tower to finally see the sky. But I was dissapointed, for all that I saw was oblong odious boxes on vast marble shelves.
I began to stagger out upon a white gravel path that strayed in two directions. I wandered through the open country. Over two hours had passed before what appeared to have been my goal appeared. A venerable ivied castle.
I stepped through the low window into the brilliantly lighted room. There had almost immediately occurred a terrifying demonstration of fear and terror from a whole company. The cries were shocking. At inspection the room had seen empty. But as I made my way to a golden archway, my fingers touched the hand of the rotting monster beneath the arch. But in my courage I had did it once more and touched the cold surface of polished glass
