CIVILIZATION V.S SAVEGERY This cell describes the systematic and organized life the boys had before getting stuck on the island. Before, they did not know about killing or the feeling of superiority over another, much more weak creature. They did not crave for power and had not unleashed the savage monster that they really were.
STRUGGLE TO BUILD CIVILIZATIONThis is the part where the boys realize that they were alone without any adults, rules, regulations, etc, and decide to do whatever they wanted. Also, this is when dispute over their opinions to build or to no build a civilization occurs. This tells us that while some of them believed that they had to live in a proper society, others did not.
WAR AND FUTURE OF MANKINDThe boys learn to fight for leadership and power. Some of them turn against each other and crave for the feeling of having the ultimate power of decision over others.
LOSS OF INNOCENCEThe island turns the boys into savages. They slowly change and accept the fact that the only way to survive is by killing innocent creatures.
DANGERS OF MOB MENTALITYThere is this feeling that they can't deny about killing and being powerful. this feeling of theirs makes the hunting activity fun and easy. once they get so carried away by this feeling of power that they nearly kill one of them. This proves that
MAN'S INHERANT EVILThe boys thought that there was a monster living on the island but the truth was that the monsters were in them all along. The fact that they gradually enjoyed being in control and that they strive just to maintain their sense of humanity proves that real evil was inside them.
