Storyboard Text

  • Student Teacher Interview
  • What do you think is most challenging for teachers in a situation like this?
  • I think that teachers may feel hurt or offended when they get made fun of by students
  • Student Teacher Interview
  • What can I do for you to help you out now or in the future
  • I think a conversation is a great way and simply to not do it in the future
  • Student Teacher Interview
  • How has this affected your teaching environment?
  • I don't feel offended by this but it's still tough for teachers to get made fun of all the time
  • They do a lot of hard work and don't need to worry about things like this
  • The Jeffco Code of Conduct states that harassment is epithets, slurs, or negative stereotyping; threatening, intimidating, or hostile acts; denigrating jokes; and written or graphic material that denigrates or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual or group that is placed on walls or elsewhere on the district’s premises or circulated by e-mail, phone (including voice messages), text messages, social networking sites, or other means. Basically, harassment towards someone is when you make something offensive or hurtful and then deliver what you have done to them by any means. (Intent to deliver to hurt or intimidate)
  • What is Harassment
  • Harassment is something that is very hard to prevent because there are so many different forms of it. The main way is to think about what you do before you do it. You may not realize all the consequences of what you're about to do before you post it or share it with someone. Of course this does not always work and so there are consequences to prevent it from happening again.
  • Ways to Prevent
  • How to Rebuild Trust
  • A good way to restore trust and fix your relationship with someone is to talk to them face to face or even write a sincere apology letter. If you own and understand what you did then hopefully they forgive you and you can continue a good relationship with them.
