The theory of multiple intelligences was developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner. It suggests that the traditional notion of intelligence, based on I.Q. testing, is far too limited. Instead, Dr. Gardner proposes eight different intelligences to account for a broader range of human potential. My intelligences are Linguistic(word smart), Logical-mathematical(number/reasoning smart) and Interpersonal(people smart). This comic will outline how and why I have these intelligences, and how these may apply to my life.
Linguistic is my top intelligence. Linguistic Intelligence(word smart) deals with individuals' ability to understand both spoken and written language, as well as their ability to speak and write themselves.I can agree that this is my top intelligence because I like to participate in debates, and to voice my opinion. This shows that I am comfortable interpreting spoken language, and using it to learn.I enjoy writing, reading, telling stories or doing crossword puzzles.
My 2nd intelligence is Interpersonal. Interpersonal Intelligence(people smart) is the ability to understand and interact effectively with others. It involves effective verbal and nonverbal communication, the ability to note distinctions among others, sensitivity to the moods and temperaments of others, and the ability to entertain multiple perspectives. This goes with my linguistic intelligence, as I use my spoken language to interact with others efficiently. I am leaders among my peers and seem to understand others’ feelings and motives. Personally, I would be trusted because I will be the first to help my friends get through their struggles, and to understand their situations.
My last intelligence is Logical-Mathematical.Logical-mathematical intelligence(number smart) is the ability to calculate, quantify, consider propositions, and carry out complete mathematical operations..I'm interested in patterns, categories, and relationships. I'm drawn to arithmetic problems, strategy games and experiments.I know for sure I am number smart because I am very good at math, and I can score very good marks, without studying at all. My brain is good at understanding complex and abstract ideas, and making use of them.
