Storyboard Text

  • Federalism
  • SCREW THE STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR TAXES!
  • Limited Power
  • Individual Rights
  • What's happening?
  • Officer, why am I being arrested?
  • I do not have to tell you that.
  • Recently Bob has been struggling to pay his rent by solely relying on his part time job. Therefore, when he hears of the new tax raise while leaving his workplace he gets angry. Bob gets angry at the concept of federalism since taxes are a shared power between federal and state government.
  • Popular Sovereignty
  • How dare the officer do this?!?!??!
  • Bob has an encounter with an officer where the officer comes into his house without a warrant and searches it. This invasion of privacy is protected by the Bill of Rights which limits the government's power as they cannot come to your home without any permission.
  • Republicanism
  • Hmmm I hope Johnson can lead our country in the right direction.
  • Bob is being arrested for petitioning peacefully which infringes on his rights. Bob's rights are being taken away because the officer is arresting him without sharing the cause nor his rights.
  • Checks and Balances
  • After getting arrested Bob is put on trial however, the jury questions the officer's actions and the majority vote to dismiss the case and charge the officer.
  • Bob votes for the presidental election hoping that his selected president can win and provide him with benifits. This is an example of republicanism since the idealogy allows the people to elect their own leaders through voting.
  • A new law was passed that reduced Bob's minimum wage from 7.25 to 6$ per hour. Bob is incredibly worried since he will no longer be able to afford living conditions. Checks and Balances is the systems that caused the passing of Bob's misery, the legislative branch made the law, the executive passed it and the judicial decided whether or not it was constitutional
  • Oh no, how will I survive now?!
