King Minos asked Daedalus to help him build him a palace with high towers and he would get payed greatly. He asked him to build a maze inside the cellars and if anyone went in, they would never find their way out.
Daedalus then figured out what the maze was being used for and that there was a creature put inside of there by King Minos, he put a half-man half-beast inside of the maze. Almost too horrible to describe.
Daedalus pulled out a bundle of wax and 4 feathers from under his bed and began to rub wax on his sons shoulder. He then set the 2 wings and let them dry. At first Icarus was scared, but his father nudged him off and he began to fly.
Icarus flew too close to the sun and his wings stopped flying. Without his wings he would crash and fall.
His wax on the wings then came unstuck an he plunged his two fist-fulls of feathers. His father tried to catch the feathers but he couldn't. Icarus was in deep trouble.
Icarus then dived down head first into the sea and all that was left was his feathers floating in the water. Daedalus was most likely disappointed. Icarus did not follow the rules about not going to the sun.
