Storyboard Text

  • "A wine skin full I brought along, and victuals in a bag, for in my bones I knew some towering brute would be upon us soon-all outward power, a wild man, ignorant of civility (Odysseus Homer 111)
  • "Ah how sound that was! yet I refused. I wished to see the caveman, what he had to offer-no pretty sight, it turned out, for my friends."(Odysseus Homer 129)
  • "We felt a pressure on our hearts in dread of that deep rumble and that mighty man."(Odysseus Homer 160)
  • Odysseus and his men once arriving the island head toward the cyclopes is cave with gifts, by the time we had arrived he was gone so we entered the cave. 
  • "Give me another, thank you kindly. Tell me how are you called? I'll make a gift will please you.(Odysseus Homer 264)
  • Odysseus and his men decided to stay in the cave and follow there Greek customs of helping themselves to cheese and bringing gifts for the Cyclops
  • Once the Cyclopes Polyphemus had returned he had eaten a few of our men and refused to honor the Greek customs of the gods.

  • Odysseus comes up with a plan of putting the cyclopes to sleep using wine, and one he finally falls asleep they stab him in the eye making him unable to see.
  • Unable to see in the morning, the Cyclops moves the boulder out of the door and checks to make sure that only the sheep are leaving. But Odysseus and his men hold the sheep over them to sneak past.

  • Once they had escaped Odysseus starts to taunt the cyclopes Polyphemus and he prays to his father Poseidon to curse Odysseus to never see his home Ithical again.
